  CROATIA: Smokers and Car-Owners to Salvage State Budget
ccording to government sources, Ivo Sanader's cabinet is ready to adopt a proposal that will increase the tax on cigarettes by 1 kuna per package, as well as taxes on cars, which will range from 2,000 to 26,500 kuna, depending on the car value.

The final decision will presumably be reached at the next government session on Saturday.
