ROMANIA: Microsoft and HP Will Develop Activities in Galati Software Park
The Romanian subsidiaries of Microsoft, HP, IBM, Oracle and Cisco will develop activities within Galati software park, whose official opening is scheduled for early March, according to Ministry of Communications and IT (MCTI).

Also within this technological park, spaces will be rented to companies Softwin, TotalSoft, Siveco and UTI, based in Bucharest, together with another 12 companies from Galati. “Further to the discussions attended by Minister of Communications, Dan Nica, between the administrator of the software park and the representatives of the companies interested in starting activities in the park, 95% of the total area for leasing has already been contracted for”, according to a press release from MCTI.

The initial number of employees in the technological park will be 300, this number being expected to grow to 500 in a short time period. During the first four years of activity, no rent will be charged for the spaces leased. The total investment in the park exceeds 40 billion lei, out of which 10 billion lei were allotted by the Government.
